About the Role
This position supports the Building Rights for Improved Girls’ Health in Tanzania (BRIGHT) project, an integrated initiative focused on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) and nutrition. The project empowers girls aged 10–19 by promoting equality, access to health services, and personal agency through a youth-centered, feminist, and rights-based approach.
As a Council Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day implementation of project activities at the council level. You will work closely with the Project Officer – Youth Engagement and other team members to ensure project goals are effectively achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of BRIGHT project activities in your assigned council under the supervision of the Youth Engagement Officer.
- Manage participant registration, documentation, and timely reporting of activities.
- Collaborate with Council Health Management Teams (CHMTs) to strengthen nutrition and ASRH service delivery.
- Coordinate adolescent engagement and demand generation for ASRH and nutrition services.
- Mobilize communities to enhance visibility, increase uptake of services, and address local challenges.
- Support the collection and analysis of project data for effective monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to semi-annual and annual progress reports in line with donor expectations and project standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, nursing, public health, or a related social/health science field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in adolescent or women’s health and nutrition programs.
- At least 3 years working with NGOs on youth-focused initiatives.
- Solid understanding of national policies and programs related to adolescent nutrition and sexual reproductive health.
- Experience in mentoring, training, and supporting health facilities and CHMTs.
- Proficiency in national health information systems such as DHIS2 and reporting tools like MTUHA.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
